It was under the reign of Humayun (1530-1556), that records show the use of a smaller, more mobile gun, compared to the large static cannon most commonly used. Humayun apparently deployed 700 of these "firingi" guns at the Battle of Kanauj against Shir Khan. Although Humayun still lost the battle.
It could be pulled by a single bullock, rather than a team of oxen.
